His service on governing boards for professional organizations includes American Association of Engineering Societies*, Institute of Industrial Engineers*, Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Foundation*, Material Handling Education Foundation, National Collegiate Athletic Association, National GEM Consortium*, National Science Board, Northwest Arkansas National Airport Authority, Southeastern Conference*, Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering and Science*, and Southeastern Research Universities Association*. His service on advisory boards includes Arkansas Biosciences Institute, Coca-Cola’s Worldwide Council on Manufacturing and Logistics, College-Industry Council on Material Handling Education, University of Florida’s College of Engineering Advisory Board, Lehigh University’s Department of Industrial Engineering Visiting Committee, Northwest Arkansas Council, and World Trade Center of Arkansas.
His industrial and consulting experience included employment with Eastman Chemical Company, Ethyl Corporation, and Rockwell, Inc. He served as a consultant to AT&T, Briggs & Stratton, Coca-Cola, Corning, DuPont, Federal Reserve Bank, Ford, IBM, L. L. Bean, Tektronix, Texas Instruments, U.S. Navy, Westinghouse, and Xerox, among others.
